A group of North Queensland Grade 9 students have gathered on their school oval to show a close friend “he’s not alone”.
Awaiting cancer diagnosis last week, 14-year-old Cody Gibbs went to school at Proserpine High on Monday to say goodbye to friends before he left for treatment in Brisbane.
It was then he got a shock.
“As he walked up to [his friends] they all took their hats off and they’d all shaved their heads,” his mother Donna Davis said.
“Some of his good friends like Oxsen [Prosser] got together and had organised this as soon as they found out he was coming in [to school].” “He cried. It was very emotional.
